Michael Bright is originally from Charleston South Carolina. He married his wife Judy, in 1997 and now resides in her hometown of Swainsboro Georgia
Early Years
Michael’s original entry into the music field began in country music. During that time, he had the opportunity to rub elbows with legendary artists such as Conway Twitty, Ronnie McDowell, Ricky Skaggs, Reba McEntire, and even had the rare opportunity to stand on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry alongside Roy Acuff.
While the experience was unforgettable, that lifestyle led him down the wrong path.
A Life-Changing Moment
Michael was working a full-time job in Charleston, South Carolina, when the company later relocated him to Georgia. His home there sat right next to a church—one he could see clearly from his front porch every single day. Yet, despite its closeness, he had never stepped inside.
That changed when a couple from the church invited him to come.
One Sunday morning, Michael walked down to the altar, got on his knees, and gave his life to Jesus. In that moment, everything changed. He realized he was now standing side by side with the One who truly matters. He then started singing for the one who gave him this gift.
Michael continued working his full-time job while singing at churches on the weekends. Then October 4th, 1995, on his 32nd birthday, everything shifted. The company he worked for laid off seven employees—and he was one of them.
Instead of fear, Michael felt faith.
He believed God had closed one door to open another.
The very next day, he got in his car and began driving from church to church. He walked in, introduced himself to pastors, and simply said he had a song to sing and a testimony to share.
That same day, seven churches booked him on the spot.
Before the week was over, eight more churches had called him back.
That’s when Michael knew without a doubt—God had a calling on his life.
A Unique Musical Calling
Michael cannot read music or play an instrument, yet he has been blessed with the ability to write songs and hear the melodies within them.
He takes those songs to the studio, where musicians help bring his vision to life, allowing him to record the music that has touched audiences around the world. Michael has recorded 12 albums, delivering a wide range of inspiring music that reflects his testimony and passion for ministry.
